Special Education Staffing and Services

Our talented and passionate staff uses proven cognitive, neuroscientific, and behavioral practices to optimize learning processes on a case-by-case basis. The Global Psychological approach takes a wide array of learning styles, motivational factors, and cognitive development differences into account.

Speech-Language Therapy

Global Psychological speech-language therapy services are provided by a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) to address the needs of students with communication disabilities. These include impairments in language, speech, and voice. The SLP will screen, identify, assess, and diagnose disorders of language, articulation, fluency, voice, and oral-pharyngeal function.

Speech and Language Evaluation

Global Psychological speech-language pathologists conduct speech and language evaluations to measure individual communication skills. Our specialists utilize formal assessments, behavioral observations, parental reports, medical, developmental, family history, and other background information about the child to determine if speech or language problems are present.

Special Education Program Development, Evaluation, and Compliance

Global Psychological will conduct a needs analysis at your school to determine the services that can complement your existing program. We can also develop entirely new programs that comply with all current government regulations, and we will assist with the processes and policies required to implement programs. Once your program is developed, our staff will compile our recommendations in a custom policy manual, and we will facilitate the entire process from initial referral through delivery of services. Our experts ensure that special education programs comply with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and local and state mandates.

Individualized Education Programs (IEP)/ Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (MET)

Once a student evaluation is completed and findings are reported per federal and state guidelines, recommendations are shared with the parents through an IEP/MET meeting. If the student is eligible, an IEP is created for the student. The IEP is a legal document that includes the student’s present levels of educational performance, a list of measurable goals and objectives, and related services, such as curriculum modifications and supplementary aids. Also included is an explanation of how often the student will participate in the general education population, when services and modifications will begin, and the location of those services.
